Dollly Parton - Jolene
When I left school at fifteen-years-old, my first job was filling up the bread counter at Sainsbury’s in Camberley Town Centre and I ended up working for the company for nine years. They were great days and I worked with some brilliant people who I have never forgotten. In those days we had a great social set-up and would often go away on coach trips or weekends away at places such as Pontins at Brean Sands in Somerset.
One such trip though was to Sandown on the Isle of Wight in the hot summer of '76. The day trip included a disco and buffet on a boat coming back from the island. One song which I have always remembered from that day is 'Jolene' by Dolly Parton. It still gives me goose-bumps every time I hear it now. Hear it on YOUTUBE
